fuel psi question
for those with upgraded fuel regulator's... what psi are you running? and has anyone heard of losing horse power with too much fuel to the motor? my fuel is running @ 55 psi and i have a b16 with a baby type-r setup but no msd or any type of upgraded ignition.

Re: fuel psi question (allmtrSI)
You're supposed to be running 37-41 psi. Let me explain something.
The fuel in your car goes from the gas tank to the engine and then back to the gas tank again. A fuel pressure regulator, so called, is actually nothing more than a restricting device. That is, all a FPR does is restrict the fuel flow returning to the gas tank. The more you restrict the flow on the return side, the higher the pressure builds on the supply side.
Having said that: I don't understand why you would want to do this. If you really need more fuel, get bigger injectors. Aftermarket FPR's are a crutch, not a cure.
Restriction is restriction. I know your fuel pump doesn't know the difference between a clogged fuel filter and an AEM FPR. Think about that comment for a moment. Need I say more?
It's funny how dumb those Honda engineers are, huh? They don't even know how much fuel pressure their own engines require!
If you really want 55 psi, have fun, but all you're doing is ******* up your fuel/air ratio and wearing out your fuel pump and injectors.
Sorry if I sound like a dick, but somebody needs to tell it like it is...
