why would you think those are two entities ?
please tell me how after the pump has cycled off it is affecting your pressure ? your problem must lie in installation....

Re: Fuel pressure problem. (Doctor CorteZ)
ok i turn the car off and the fuel pressure instantly drops to 0. i installed the pump exaactly how the manual (actual honda manual) said to do it. when the car is running it s at about 39 to 42 psi.

The fuel system is not supposed to remain pressurized after you turn to car off. It should drop to 0. Don't know about instantly, but mine drops to zero about 5-10 min after the car is turned off.

wrong.
it should take nearly an hour to drop back to zero , 5-10 minutes is too quick.

Re: Fuel pressure problem. (Doctor CorteZ)
What would cause it to drop so fast?
So it is "correct" that the fuel system is not supposed to stay pressurized after the car is turned off...right?

could be anything , not saying you're losing performance or anything , just that idealy it should nearly an hour to completely lose pressure...
could be leak in return line , could be an old gas cap , could be anything really...

did you install the B/M correctly ?
I think this is where you should check FIRST.

That's crazy....how can you tell if the cap is the weak link? Can you hear pressure escaping? See the fumes?
Interesting...

Re: Fuel pressure problem. (Doctor CorteZ)
if it is suposed to go down to 0 then how come it takes hella days for my ride to start. i still think it is going down to low. i thought that a car holds enough pressure in the line to keep fuel in the line inorder to start the vehicle.

Re: Fuel pressure problem. (SLOAZZ94)
When you go to start the car the fuel pump pressurizes the system when you turn the ignition to the "on" posistion.
Did you check the FPR and lines and make sure you have no leaks? Did you read Dr. Cortez's post on other possible problems?
