fuel killswitch
i installed a fuel killswitch yesterday. it was running then this morning while driving, my car just died. i turned the switch on off then it started again. is it possible that the vibration just shook the switch? if i put it back as it was not soldering it, will it affect the fuel pump like it did today?

Re: fuel killswitch
Try disconnecting the switch and redo the original wiring to see if it works under a stock set up, rather than the switch interfering with the circuit. that will tell you if your pump or switch went TU for some reason. Just check your connections and make sure they are solid.

also..some of those switches are plain junk. is it a cheap (2 dollar part) plastic switch? might want to get a better switch if this is the case.

Re: fuel killswitch
The current rating of the switch does matter, so does the wire gauge and length. Get a real switch, not from "radio crap". Solder the connections whenever possible.

Re: fuel killswitch
I installed my switch using 18 gauge wire and a switch I got from Radioshack, which I think was a 20 or 25 amp switch, I can't quite remember. It works fine. OH YES, another important question, how far away from the pump did you mount your switch. I think if its furtehr then 4-5 ft, you're going to have to use a relay.

My kill switch is inline with a low current signal from the ECU before the full pump relay "main relay". Switching a high current load with a switch is stupid.

Re: fuel killswitch
you turn it off, walk away, come back and hit the switch, let the pump fully prime, then start? i made my switch turn off the ground that runs close to the drivers seat.
