fuel injector problem
I'm looking into buying a 93 Civic cx tommorow and need help diagnosing the injector problem. What I know is the car does not have a firing signal at fuel injector harness. Any idea's on what the problem is(ecu, main relay etc.)? I know the info I have supplied isn't much but until I look at it in person tommorow it's all I have. Thanks for your time.

Re: fuel injector problem (Mr.Death)
hard to tell without doing any troubleshooting.ECU would be my first guess.see if it has any codes also.are the injectors not firing,or not getting any fuel?do you have a spare ECU you can take along?

I have a p28 ecu and a pm6 ecu that I have lying around. Frokm what the guy thats selling it told me there is no signal at the harness where the injectors are. Will I need a po5 ecu or will the one's I have work. Thanks.

yes,the P28 will work to strart the car.it will throw codes for the VTEC sensors as well as O2 codes(since the CX has a 1-wire O2),but it will run well enough to confirm the ECU was the problem, and drive it home if needed.
i can't remember right off hand if the main relay also controls the circuit the injectors get power from.i'd have to look at the schematic to see,and i don't have any shop manuals here.the main relay does control the fuel pump, which will prevent the injectors from delivering any fuel.when you turn the key "on",you should be able to hear the pump prime, the MIL will come on while the pump primes, then cut off,and you should hear a click when it first cuts on,then a click as it cuts off.about 2-3 seconds is how long this stuff happens for.
