fuel gauge question
On my 1993 civic Si my gauge seems to work fine, fill it up and it goes to F and gradually goes down to E like normal, or so i would think. The problem comes in when i fill it up off of E with the gas needle all the way on E. The most gas i've EVER put in the car is 8.1 gallons at 1 time, but it averages about 7.5 gallons, and i fill it up EVERYTIME. Shouldnt I put more than that in to fill it from dead E to fuel shooting out the filler neck.

Re: fuel gauge question
i wish that was the case, but these busted gas stations around here the pumps dont stop on their own. Well my freinds 00 hx fills up normally takes about 10 gallons like one would expect but mine has a false bottom or somethin. Can a bad fuel gauge sensor cause this problem?

Re: fuel gauge question
well i'm trying to improve my gas milage and not fill up as often but its hard to do when i dont know when the tank is really empty. And driving till it runs out with a can of gas in the car isnt what i'm trying to do, just want things to work correctly.
