front tires tilted and wearing down tread. HELP?
okay so when I'm parked my front wheels are tilted in like this " / \ " well not that bad. Anyway I think it is the sway bar bushings, do you think I'm right? I've gone through 2 sets of tires on the front in the past month.
Please help?

is you car lowered? if so your toe and camber are prolly out of whack. Also, be4 u get the alignment, jack your car up in the front, and wiggle the wheels. If you get wiggle, you have something broken in your suspension and you need to fix before they will do an alignment.

thats camber but thats not whats eating yoru tires.
its your toes. If you lowered your car and never got an alignment you will eat through tires in 2 weeks.
just get an alignment and you will be fine.
My tires are literally / \ adn i have completely even tire wear.

most likely wheel bearings.
grab the top and bottom and push in and out. If this is when it 'wiggles' than chances are your wheel bearings are fuct.
Is there any whining or grinding noises when you are driving? It is usually most noticable at higher speeds.

There's no grinding or whining noises at high speeds or low speeds. I did a double check and I was wrong there really isn't a wiggle. When its jacked up the tires are fine and straight.. but when I lower it they push out a little, Do you think it could be my struts and springs?

Re: front tires tilted and wearing down tread. HELP?
yeah if your springs are worn out it'll cause your tires to camber out. if its not lowered yet nows the opportunity to. get some lowering springs and new struts and camber kits for all for corner. your ride will be pimpin.

Re: front tires tilted and wearing down tread. HELP?
If you have a stock suspension your camber isn't adjustable. an alignment would be a waste of money. Even Honda dealerships just do toe and go alignments. There are kits available for camber adjustment but as it stands, the best you could hope for is a little wiggle room in your strut.
Bad springs could cause that problem, so can collisions and, my personal favorite, obesity. Seriously, I've had to explain it to a plus-sized customer with the same complaint.

as stated before, camber is not your problem, its the toe. The toe + neg camber will cause extreme tire wear. If your not experienced with mechanical work, i would recommend taking it to a trusted shop to have the suspension checked for wear, and then have an alignment done. This should cost less than $100. Also what kind of car do you have?

Toe-in/out is literally 95% importance of your alignment.
Even an 1/8th of an inch out of spec. in your toe angle is the equivalent of your tires being drug sideways for a second every mile or so. Wear adds up quick.

bump
interesting tidbit:
"every 1/16th toed in OR out incorrectly results in your tire dragging 60ft per mile..."

Normally toe issues will cause cupping on the edge rather than smooth wear. Do the edges of the tires feel like a wave pool?

Problaly best to get 2 brand new tires in stalled, then get an alignment. i don't think most shops will align a car where the wires are showing through or cupped badly.

If you take it in to get an alignment they will put it on the machine and tell you exactly what is wrong with it. They shouldn't charge you to look at it. My car needs new bushings before my alignment can be done. one of my tires are really wearing fast on the inside and i can feel it when i take of it wants to spin.
Just take it to an alignment shop and see what they deduce. They can tell you better then any of these guesses here without actually seeing the car. Maybe you need only an alignment. A curb check can throw it off you know. Maybe you need to replace something thats broke. Take it in.

Re: front tires tilted and wearing down tread. HELP?
Yeah I lowered my sedan a bit and my front tires are shot, I completely forgot to do an alignment and have put ~800 miles on it since. I got poked by the wire showing, and yeah it's like a slight wave on the inside tread. All the more reason to upgrade, my tires are pretty shitty right now
