Front rsx seat in 99 ek hatch
Hey guys I know there's a thread about the rsx seats going into the ek's but the pictures are not coming up in the thread. Just want to know if I'm doing this right. I have the right seat some what in but not really sure how to the right rear braket on. I have it cut off and I think I might put the ek braket on and weld a flat seal to the rail.

if you have access to a welder, this is what I did. The two notches with a 1 inch separation. drill out the rivet holding the bracket, line up the top and bottom notches and the bottom slide it about 1/8" or 1/4" forward so it doesn't fit too tight weld it back in. for the other side you need to make a bracket. just make it long enough so the rear hole lines up with its corresponding hole. by doing this you will make it look like it was factory. Before welding the bracket on the other side, slide the seat back and forth and lock it in place. make sure both rails lock in place at the same time.

Could I use the stock braket that's bolts to the floor weld that to a flat steel and weld that to the rail?
I can send a pic what I mean when I get home

I put an Accord seat into my Civic. I transfered the seat rails off the old Civic seat on to the Accord. It fit perfectly and was very easy. Took 15 minutes and the Accord seats are sooo much more comfortable.

I never thought to use an Acura seat. Next time I'll try that.
However, be very careful if you intend to do any welding on your seat mounts, because they are a safety item in your car. If you are not a certified welder, then take them to a shop who will guarantee their welding. If you have an accident and you are injured because your weld did not hold, you insurance could be null and void. That could be very bad news if you are a paraplegic needing extensive medical care.

Here is what mine look like on the driver's seat. And it is possible that what you just mentioned is what I did in the front outer side on both seats.

make sure you sit on it and move it back and forth on its rail as you would normally to check for proper fitment before you do your final welds.

My memory is pretty bad. I dont remember exactly how the original brackets are on the civic and on the acura. But what you just mentioned is what I would try first.

I also may or may not be updating on the wiring soon, since the passenger seat is currently out for unrelated wiring...
