Default Front LCA bushing install help

I am in the process of installing the es master bushing set and I need some help. What technique have people used to get the bushing in the picture below out? Its one of the ones for the front lower control arm. I have a press but I cant figure out a way to press it out since the arm has a curve to it. Hope someone can help, thanks.

Unbolt the rearward arm from it. You wont have any clearance problems then.

I did that already but since the arm has a curve its difficult to position it on the press.

It should be cake. Have your buddy hold it while it rests on a big pipe or socket. Then press that dude out.

when i did that i put it in a big *** vice and used a ball joint press & impact gun.
it took some persuasion, but it came out in a few minutes.

i certainly don't envy you right now

We have always used sockets and the balljoint press kit. I normally just take my time and beat them out but it takes a lot of work and even more patience.

propane torch, and have some ventilation cause the burning rubber will leave a black soot on everything in your garage. (or maybe only if you use fire for every bushing) for the rears I just took the arm out and set it in some hot charcoals and came back in 5 mins... burnt clean out!

you'll love the ES master kit, makes a WORLD of difference!!

thanks for all your input. I managed to remove the bushing by pressing out the inner sleeve and then using a hacksaw to cut through the shell. Then I used a screwdriver and hammered it out. I am pissed now though cause when I opened up my kit and was going through the parts, it seems like I am missing some of the metal sleeves. Anyone know where I can get replacements?

Yup burn and chip the rubber out using a propane torch and screw driver . Then carefully cut the metal sleeve out using a hacksaw.

I just did these bushings last week using this method. It is not that difficult, just takes some patience.

nevermind, beat me to it.
