Well there is two ways of going to get that style grill . One you can go to a speed shop and get the Type R "Shell" , Why they call it a shell I don't friggen know but they do . Or your other option is to get creative and take your bumper off and do it yourself and create that style grill from your current grill(removing the H emblem and the supports around it) . If you go with making the grill yourself , BE PREPARED . it can be a nightmare . If your making the grill , I have heard if you have a 96-98 its eaiser to make . I have a 2000 and it looked like poo poo and had to do an emergency cosmedic sugery LOL . And if its any help , (I'm saving up for the Type R grill) . But for making it you can get the mesh from places like Home Depot or Lowes . The finer details on fabrication I can't tell you . Cuz I dunno , I just know how to chop poo poo up LOL . Laters

i went to home depot...bought the poo poo i wanted and popped it in...all u got ot do is take that hole grill piece and and then un screw like 4 screws....then cut the poo poo to fit and snap ur gril back together...and put it back in car...oh make sure u take the H off beofre u do it

Yeah thats for a 98 , but the 99 to 2000 styled grill is different . I think they are bigger and are formed differently . Anyone have a 99 to 2000 that has done this mod themselves . Any pointers ? more importantly any pics or links to pages with "How To"

just buy an oem civic si grill without the H, they come painted in the si colors. You wont buy riggin up any ghetto crap, mount just like your stock grill and looks like that picture.

that's my car there and i did that on my hx also but any how. I used 1/8th inch steel for that hog gutter gaurd sucks ***. I just cut all the black out and jammed it in there its' super ghetto and fits decent but just thought i would share its easy to do cept for cuting the steal that sucks.
