Front Control Arm bolt is spinning
I am doing a bushing kit on my civic, and the front driver side lower control arm..the rear bracket with the 3 bolts...I was taking off the inside bolt and heard a THUMP/SNAP and now it just spins freely...I first thought I broke the head but nope
anyone have any idea? am I stuck with yanking the engine out and welding the nut on teh other side? is there even a nut on the other side? what is the deal
ANY info you can provide me is appreciated

try gettin an open ended wrench, stick that between the head of the bolt and the flange and using the wrench pull on the bolt while you turn it with your air ratchet, works good everytime for me

Re: Front Control Arm bolt is spinning (BrokeAssPinoy)
I can get it out, I mean worst happens I grind the head right off
the problem is when I go to re-attach the replacement one, it won't hold
I truley believe there's a nut welded on teh other side and it broke off

Re: Front Control Arm bolt is spinning (Leb_CRX)
this happened to me. what i did was put a needle nose vice grip under the rubber and squezzed it. it has to be tight enough or else its just going to keep turning. hope this helps. i didnt really know how to do it. my friend was just supervising me

Re: Front Control Arm bolt is spinning
I know this thread is old but I wanted to post my thanks to both setsuna and tsjeff because I ran into the same problem with my 03 accord. What I did was combined their techniques to get the bolt out. Using both a needle nose vise grip to latch onto the bushing and using an open end wrench to put pressure by forcing the bolt out while impacting the sucker out. Worked like a charm for me. Saved me from a dented fender (was about to put my fist into it) and most of all time and money from calling in a mobile mechanic to solve it for me. So thanks to theses guys and the Honda-tech Community for your continued tips and tricks in Honda related issues. You guys are a God send.
