uh, should be easy. just unscrew the two side screws by the fenders, then unscrew the tops ones(like 5 of em). then just pull it off. shouldn't be anything else to it.

Removing the front bumper has nothing to do with the airbag sensors on a 1992-1995 hatchback or coup. I can do it in about five minutes on mine. Just go ahead and do it, you won't pop anything.

WHAT THE...?!?!? Isn't it illegal to drive around with no bumpers? If you're going for weight loss visit Jenny Craig. Strip out your trunk. Remove A/C. Remove rear seats. Bumpers?

are you talkin about the steel frame work of the plastic cover... Steel frame work should not be removed... the plastic is just silly to remove, you probably increase drag more than loose weight, plus it's ugly...

yeah...by bumper he means bumper not bumper cover. The plastic is nothing, nobody would remove the bumper covers to save weight but is fairly common practice to remove the bumper supports.
Personally, I would not remove them. There are several posts discussing the pro's and con's of removing the bumper supports.

Leave the front one on. The rear one can be taken off to reduce drag. Taking off the front bumper will only hurt the performance of the car, it is designed to route the air over the hood and to the sides over the fenders. If you remove the front bumper, you're basically throwing aerodynamics out the window.

Re: (BauleyCivic)
I'm actually pretty sure you can drive around with no bumper cover as long as you have the reinforcements. It's considered a "cosmetic" item just like fenders and a hood here (which you don't *have* to have on your car.

Re: (Ricey McRicerton)
personally I would not remove anything that could save my engine in a wreck. When I put my fmic in I did everything I could to fit it in without making the bumper support worthless, it's there for a reason so keep it.

Re: (ill94hatch)
removing the bumper supports is just plain dumb...why risk more damage to the car just to save 15 pounds which you can do by putting on a c/f hood or going on a diet!

Re: (ill94hatch)
there are much more sensible ways to reduce weight than by doing that. i'm gonna go out on a limb and say you still have any or all of the following: moonroof, criuse control, power steering, air conditioning, and full interior.
