Front brakes grabbing from stop

Front brakes grabbing from stop
Hey all,
I just bought a 98 civic and i have a couple concerns. When i come to a stop and very quickly switch to the gas, say to make a quick merge, the car shudders and i hear a loud grabbing noise from the front end for a second or so and then it goes away. Also, at about 65-70 i hear a resonating sound coming from the front end which goes away with light brake application. Under normal circumstances the brakes work great. I just put new pads and rotors in the front and i cleaned greased and adjusted the rears. Im thinking maybe the caliper pistons are gunked up and sticking a little or something. Has anyone come across this complaint/have an advice?

Re: Front brakes grabbing from stop
When i replaced the rotors and pads the slide on the calipers moved by hand and i greased up the slide on the mounting bracket. Another bit of info: I had a little trouble getting the left caliper over the new pads and new rotors even tho i c-clamped the piston

Re: Front brakes grabbing from stop
yeah when i had the car jacked up they turned with little resistance, but ill double check that later. The noise from a stop is definitely coming from the front. I would say both sides. But as for the whine at 65-70 my passengers have said it sounds like its coming from the right but im not 100% on that

ok, ill give that a try. So if they hang up for a second that would be a caliper issue right? I had the same symptom before replacing the pads and rotors btw

Re: Front brakes grabbing from stop
Hey guys, i really need your help.
Shortly after talking to you here, i inspected my new rotors. The front right was nice and even but the front left had several small hot spots. Worried, I replaced both front calipers today and still from a hard stop there is grabbing. What am i doing wrong? What could this possibly be? Still getting some resonating at 65 mph as well. I bled the calipers until just fluid came out, no air. Im getting really frustrated.

Re: Front brakes grabbing from stop
Again, check whether fluid flows more freely from the right caliper than the left caliper. A clogged brake line on the left side could cause the problem.
Also double check the left caliper slide pin to verify that it moves freely and easily.

Re: Front brakes grabbing from stop
My remaned calipers came with new slides. Even the one on the caliper mount. After double checking they are greased and move. When i did the wheel spin test with a friend holding/releasing the brakes, the left wheel, as expected, took more force to rotate after the pedal was released. The fluid does come out of the left when bleeding however. How should i proceed
