Default Front Brake Swap: S2K caliper/disc > EK Anyone done this before?

just wondering, as anyone performed this swap?

S2K Disc and caliper setup, onto the front setup of EK...

im just curious will this be a straight forward swap, to say a BB4 setup to EK?

the reason, im curious is that i can get the disc for nothing, and the calipers rather cheap. and being 310mm disc size, and twin pot caliper, it would be better than the BB4 setup right?

obviously youre going to have to redrill the discs since s2k is 5 lug and youre 4. the teggy brakes is way easier since its take off your stock stuff and bolt teggy stuff right up. not sure about the s2k caliper mounting compared to eks. good question though.

yea, the re-drill part is easy, that was a gimme, as i had to re-drill the prelude rotors as well,

i know with the prelude calipers you have to skim off abit off the mounting points so they line up etc. just wondering how different the S2k calipers are... i cant compare them, as i want to research them before i buy them

Dont want Teg stuff, well i tried to find 5 lug beffy 98 spec ITR stuff, but they wanted my left nuts, and a liver swap for them... ahha..

also, interested point here, my friend told me, when he was at type One, talking with Mr. Ichishima-san, interview for a Mag feature, he mentioned that the Spoon S2K monoblock caliper, can be fitted to EK9. with minor modification, but of course, lost in translation means he couldnt elaborate on that.

I believe the S2000 takes the same calipers mpunting points as all other hondas, so with some spacing, it should go. someone go find pictures.

So exactly how many left nuts do you have?

I've been lookin for a picture of a S2000 knuckle and caliper, and so far, nothing of any use.

I can tell you some other things. With a EX knuckle, you can get 11.1" rotors and ITR calipers, you can do 10.4" rear rotors.

I'm trying to find out about a larger front brake. My dad has a 03 TL and at some point this month, I'm going to take his suspension apart when he's not lookin. I'll have ITR or Civic EX caliper to see if they will bolt on properly to the knuckle. Then find a rotor with the proper offset to work with this supersized caliper.

P.S. The TL takes a larger than 11.1" rotor. I don't have an S2000 to dissect, trust me I would.

the calipers on the TL is monsterous. I'm not sure having that kind of stopping power on a little civic would be worth the weight gains to your rolling mass. It'd feel like putting a set of 20's on. MAJOR bling factor though.

actually bling factor would be the primary reason. The S2000 front brakes are EVEN BIGGER than that though. My car is currently with my mods about 2400lbs, without me. So with TL brakes, I could get a longer lasting pad and still stop like mad (cause i got good tires) and get a smaller m/c so on regular roads, when i tap it its not crazy stopping.

im guessing a TL is a accord?!

or am i wrong?!

you are correct though, the S2K caliper is heavy, i probably wouldnt be able to outbrake them, but im only considering them as i can get the disc virtually brand new for free, and the calipers cheap.

oh and the bling, who wouldnt love the bling....

hmmm, now where is my conversion tables... haha, im getting lost on all the inches talk, and lbs.. i use mm and kg haha..

Sir, Honda does not share frames, thats Toyota.

I don't know what brake system the 03 Accord has. The 91-97 Accord V6 take the same caliper as the ITR, a 17CL15VN, the 03 TL takes a 17CL16VN. Its a bigger caliper with a bigger pad, but the rotor on the TL is not all used. Its got a good half inch in radius thats not touched. The hangar goes "in" toward the rotor, rather than stick out to touch the rim.

s2000 calipers will work. they aren't 2 piston, but 1 piston. i don't think the offset of the rotors is correct to fit onto your civic knuckles. i know mugen active gate braking system is just S2000 calipers painted gold with custom vented rotors, which are offsetted to fit civic's and integra's. you can buy the rotors separately from king motorsports, but i think they are about $300-$400. your civic knuckles should be the stock 10.3" rotors, and shaving of the caliper brackets or spacing of the rotors might be needed. that is all i know of this far... someone do the conversion and let us know how it goes..

ill post pics and write up,

badass, just take a pic at least of the bracket bolted to the knuckle, and then measure with a ruler, so we can figure this ****. also, the hub on a ITR might not be as wide as a S2000 hub, so someone check that.
