okay, i just bought a fram fuel filter but it doesn't look like my oem one at all. i believe the fuel filter is in the engine bay, correct, which connects to the fuel line that goes to the fuel rail. well it doesn't look like it'll fit because the lines are totally different, the one from honda has both the lines on top and the one from fram has one on the bottom and one on top. how do i go on installing this? this is the one i just bought.

what year is your car OP?
you need a filter for a 92-94 mine is the same just bought the one at the parts store had no problems probably just got the wrong one

Its not the ebay sellers fault he bought the wrong part he should have looked at his to make sure it was the same as the one on his car

Note the part of that post I bolded, the '95 fuel filters are different, they have the hard fuel line coming in the bottom and the feed hose going to the fuel rail on top, the '92 - '94s have both lines on top. The auction has it listed wrong though.

damn, well i've found the same one at wal-mart and kragen as well, and it's listed as 92-95 civics. so i guess i have the 95 civic's and i need the 92-94 then, anyone know the part number for the fram fuel filter for the 92-94 civic's then.

If he got an OEM 95 filter, it would still be incorrect... nothing wrong with OEM or Fram. Just need to have the correct part.

As for the part number for the 92-94 filters... just hit up the Fram website, local Autozone, Advanced Auto, Walmart, etc. and ask. They'll help you.

1. buy USA or Japan made replacement parts if you're not going to get OEM. Purolator is a mixed bag, but fuel filters are usually China
2. Fram filters suck... at least their oil filters do. Therefore, I don't trust any. (personal experience w/ project musclecar, swapped in a new oil filter and had good psi, even better than I remember getting running the fram) Do a online search if you wish.

I use valvoline filters in my civic since I got a bunch for free and mine is just an 'econobeater' that still runs strong at a young 188k miles. When they're gone, see Jeep... For my Jeep (drivable project) I use Baldwin, Hastings, Fleetgard (go to a cummins diesel shop and ask the parts guy), or Wix (Napa). All have a good name in the heavy diesel industry, so I'll trust them on the 242ci Jeep engine I have. Some napa/wix filters are made in China, and I don't trust those.

fram works fine. just a filter its not like its a extra horse power if you get a $200 one. will just get a new one. probably 15-20 dollars

not everything you add to a car has to add power, but I knew what he was talking about. Some filters filter better than others and I've heard frams suck as well.
