Found An Old Honda
Found an old honda today driving around. it's a civic but i don't know what year it is. i read the vin and what i camre up with is an AH5. Anyone every heard of this style?

I didn't have a owner's manual? Check the driver's door there should be some type of info there as well... Also Look for a number on the engine... Also what body type? Im assuming it will have a D series..

found the mugen version of it. I hope this clears it up.
I have no interior shots because i saw it on the side of the road for sale. I may scoop this one up, but i need to find out what it is so i can find out some upgrades for it.

Not really rare around my neck of the woods...I think you may be looking at a 85 Civic. Now if you find a 70's vintage civic...get it.

Yea thats the EA, I found one near were I live too. I found a 87 with NO RUST MINT 9/10. IDK I was thinkin to buy it just because of the condition it was in and it only had 57,*** miles on it. They are light too. Hasport makes mounts for them.

Man, around Bowling Green, KY, those OLD civics are all over the place...there is even one MINT condition 1300 (i believe thats the model) that was sitting at the park a while back. It was obvious that this guy want to keep it looking GOOD...for what reason though, I haven't got a clue lol

My dad had an '86 SI and I learned how to drive on it. Under 2000 lbs. with just over 100 HP after mods. It was fast enough and loud enough to **** off a lot of the kids in high school! It had Jackson Racing suspension and header, K&N air filter, straight pipe back to a SuperTrapp muffler exiting in front of the right rear wheel. 185/60-13" Yokohamas on Panasport style Enkie wheels. It handled awesome, was tons of fun, and it was a tank in the snow too. One kid at school bought a Daytona Turbo the day after I spanked his Escort GT in that Civic!

Theres a guy who works next to me with an 86' w/ basic bolt-ons
Ugly when he first got it....
But he put some springs on it, got some oz wheels, retro-fitted an old lip (model??) and painted it electron blue pearl.
It is now a very sharp-looking car. Buy that thing

yeah its an 84-87 civic, that came with either ew1 or ew4 motors in them they have torsion bars suspension up front and a solid axle in the rear, most of them are 12 vavle engines. the EW4 engine in the dx etc had a uniquely shaped combustion chamber that allows it to burn up most all of the gas so it could pass an "theoretically" emission test with a messed up exhaust. and those cars have made in japan all over them, so its pretty good for the jdm guys.
swaps area bit harder inthem because the engine is right at the radiator supports, .
thats all i can think off the top of my head. If anyone has one and needs help working on them ask me or one of gurus from redpepperracing.com on here.

and for parts upgrade, good luck ou either have to make them your self or find an obscure retailer that still carries what parts there were for it.
parts i know you can upgrade
*stiffer torsion bars
*rear springs (either custom or out of a heavier model like teh wagon or integra)
*carburators* mikuni, and or webers can be put on, but some mods need to be done first
*locked timing on the distibutor
*de-vaccuming carb-takes a awhile and hard to tune after you do it and needs ( removing like 25lbs of junk too)
*adjustable camber plates,
*strut tower bars
*adjustable panhard rods ( for lower in increased stiffness)
various igniton stuff too.

Get it only if it's the Fuel injected model. Engine code is D15A1(or A3) they make 100 hp stock. Friend had an Si, It was kinda fun and loud with only a muffler. Piping was bigger than my stock EF. As far as swap you want the 86-87 not the 88-89 D16A1 integra motor because of the damn vaccum advance wiring. All EA hatches had this system, therefore you have to get the 86-87 teg motor.

We did a B16A swap into a 1986 CR-X (same engine bay) and it ******* moved out with i/h/e more so than any EF chassis B16A swap we'd done. but keep in mind it's more expensive than the EF swap due to the custom ECU, harness, axles, and more pricey mount kit.

you can still have fun with the carbed ones, you just have to remove all of that egr and vaccum line ****, (all of it, its like 25 pounds of it) you just have to have one source of vaccum for the secondary fuel jets, and dizzy and like one other thing, and you must cap all the lines you pulled

DOOD. That Mugen EF is such a nice car. It dominated Group A for a while. You can tune ur EF to be amazing. EF has one of the strongest chassis out of EG and EK Hatches. They dont look at bad after simple exterior mods either

Yesterday I actually saw the original Civic CVCC. Looked clean, like new. Now THAT'S unique. Not much of that kind of person who would keep the first "low emission vehicle" (to the 1975 standards) around and kickin.
