Forged internals louder than stock?
This may be a weird question, but do forged internals (pistons and rods, and not to mention, the block is sleeved and bored out to 84mm) make more noise idling than stock internals? This is a B16A2.
I read that somewhere a few years back but really didn't pay any attention to it since I was running a stock motor then.
Anyway, forged internals louder than stock? Yes/no?

also, what the piston to wall clearances are set at can also determine how loud/often the tapping occurs. larger clearances mean the piston has to expand more. some pistons expand more than others based on their composition.

Forged pistons expand more with heat when compared to cast ones. Thus to get the required diameter at operating temps, they have to be smaller when cold.
Sold starts w/ loose pistons causes the greatest wear and tear.

After I built my motor I remember hearing "Piston slap." I never had this before I went with new internals. Apparently that was a good thing as far as clearances/tolerances went.
I say yes, louder in general.
