i have a vis C/F hood, and as of late i noticed a slight spotty haze, like about 3 spots to be exact on the hood (looks like i left some wax on it.) anyone have any similar problem... offer any suggestions.. vis told me to sand it down with like 1500 and re clear coat it.. but i wanted some furthe opinion first..

Sounds like oxidations. VIS has the worst customer service I have ever experience with. I don't know if you been to their store, but they have a rude sign that says customers can wait all they want. They will leve you standing there untill you ask to get helped. And they are rude about answering questions.

i agree they were kinda shitty on the phone.. the first time i called the guy went, "sorry not our problem once you install something like that it becomes your problem.." the second time i called i got lucky.. it was some younger guy and he was liek the same stuff happend to me.. i hit it real heavy with VERY lite sand paper then buffed it and it was fine.. but im hesitant without a second opinion to start sanding my hood

Yea I had the same problem. I sanded the hood and re-cleared it, turned out great.

thank you VERY much.. this is exactly what i wanted to hear... did you notice the fog was gone before you re clear coated it.. i guess im asking as to not sand it TOO far.. the guy said you will see that you have to sand harder than you think.. like it is gonna take more than like 20 minutes...

If you put a even sand all over the hood untill it looks dull that will work.

yeah i got that on my vis hood too...i was wondering what it was......

2000 grit wet sand paper
and then get this mequiars clear coat
and apply it every couple weeks

You ever try to wax your hood??? It took some imperfections out mine . But mine is always in the garage and never in the sun.

mequiars clear coat...??? ok i will look into it.. sounds good.. did you notice how long you sanded it for???

u just want to do it lightly with alot of water and do it evenly then let it dry and see if oxidation is still there and do again if still there
