Default Flywheel Weight

What is the weight of the stock flywheel?

I found a flywheel on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LSD-R...#ht_3181wt_841

and a clutch: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_3656wt_1166

Do you think this will work ok?

Where can I find a cheap, quality flywheel? How much does Honda charge?

if you pay someone to do this for you expect to sell your legs to pay for it.

I think civ/teg flywheels are around 18lbs. F1 makes 12 lbs and 9.75lbs flywheels.

I found an Exedy Clutch Kit with Flywheel http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...#ht_2326wt_940

and a XTR Racing Clutch Kit http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ht_2573wt_1166

Which one is better? The XTR comes with a 8.5Lb flywheel and can handle 195HP and 181 TQ

I have an XTR Stage 2 clutch and 8.5LB flywheel in my LS and its been fine for 1 1/2 years or so now. I would say that exedy is probably the better brand of the two though.

IIRC my stock D16Z6 flywheel was like 18lbs.

When do you know when to replace the clutch and how long do clutches usually last if you use it for daily driving?

Depends on how the driver is with a manual transmission. I've seen clutches outlast the vehicle as a daily driver, and i've seen them last 6 months as a daliy driver.

When do you know that a clutch needs replacement? When the engagement is high?

Usually clutches need replacing when they start slipping. Try to gently accelerate from a stop in top gear, 5th. If it stalls, clutch is probably ok. If it revs, clutch is on its way out.

Yup, I just started it in 5th gear and it stalled. So if it starts slipping, can I still drive the car to a garage to have a new clutch put in?
