Default flywheel question

Hey guys i have a clutchmasters 7.5 lb. flywheel and an ACT stage 3 six puck clutch. Im gettin ready to turbo my car and just recently got another ACT 6 puck clutch because my other one is gettin worn out. My question is do i need to do anything to the flywheel before installing my new clutch like get it turned or resurfaced or anything. Is it neccesary? Thanks in advace

Ive heard its better to either get a new one or resurface it when you get a new clutch, but it may be okay... i honestly dotn really know...

if it were me i would judge it by looks and see/feel if the surface is warped or uneven. Just think that since you have the clutch out and everything it would be beneficial later on to fix it or replace it now.

i dunno if the act is resurfacable or not...but i would either replace the friction material or get it turned before i put in a new clutch....its not always neccessary, but you might as well be safe while the tranny is apart.

don't resurface it... get a new one... i wouldn't trust a shop with that job... or call the manufacturer and ask them... i know some aftermarket flywheels can't be resurfaced like action clutch flywheels...

Yeah i was hoping i could get it resurfaced to save me the money but i guess if worst comes to worst I'll buy a new one. Money is a bit tight right now cause i dont have a job and im a poor college student, plust i just blew my motor on saturday night so i dont know what i need to rebuild that now But thanks for the advice guys. I'll probably contact clutchmasters and see what they would do just to be on the safe side.

resurface IF NEEDED if you didnt have any shimmy in the pedal (like warped brake rotor feeling when letting out the clutch) u probably dont have to resurface it. if you do, u need to measure the step of the deck on the flywheel to determine how much metal is avail to machine off.

No i definately never felt anykind of a shimmy coming from my clutch and flywheel. If this is true then im happy that i dont need to get it resurfaced. Thanks

most aftermarket flywheels come with a detachable friction plate so you never need to resurface it you just buy a new plate for it
