i just instaled my FLUIDYNE RADIATOR and conected all the hose, but for some reason smoke keeps coming out? i spilled some rad. fluid so i thought thats the reason it was smoking, so I jus let it run for 20 min. thinking that the spilled fluid would burn out. but it keept on smoking. so my question is should i keep on running the car to check if it would stop or not?

50/50 water coolant? are u loosing fluid or is it staying in there?

i use the 50/50 preston.. and the colant is staying in there.

thermostat opening? hum... and the temp gauge isnt moving up to hotter?

Let the car cool down. Then check the hose connections and clamps again, and the radiator cap. Then pour a little water and wipe down some of the areas where coolant spilled before.

Then start the engine and check again.

the gauge isnt getting hotter. it jus stays in the midle. im not sure if the thermostat is opening or not, but why wouldnt it open?

so ur saying check for leaks.

did u flush the old radiator before u put the new one in? getting the coolant out of the motor 2? its either u have 2 much coolant 2 little or u just need to let it run through the motor more

Yes. Usually any steam is from a leak, or fluid spill.

Is the smoke coming from the exhaust or the radiator itself? Be more specific: are there multiple points of smoking? Does the smoke smell sweet like coolant or is it burning water vapor or oil?

the smoke is from the radiator it self.. its coming from the mesh part. if u know wat i mean..the smoke is mostly in the mesh part of the radiator it it smells like burning coolant. i dont realy know how sweet coolant can semll like and or water vapor smells like, but i do know its not oil smell.

r u just letting it idle or are u driving it... id drive it and let the wind blow some of that coolant off.....

i was jus leting it idle because i didnt want to in danger my motor..

you should probably drive it, its probably spilled coolant, i normally pour windsheild washer fluid over the radiator after i do a hose and/or bleed the system. then drive it. i wouldnt pour anything over it while its still hot though. also did your fan kick on?

no it did not..does anyone else have any idea

how long is it in idle? drive the catr for 20-30 min the check again. there might be a leak from the radiator itself.

is the water temp gauge going up? just watch that when ur driving if it starts rising up just kill the ignition... stay near home when your doing it i had this issue with my B18C swap and it came out to be (not knowing) that the D16 radiator that i had in there had to small of radiator inlets... lol yea i feel dumb...
