Fluctuating Speedometer: Civic Si
I'm racing my 00 Civic Si in SCCA's Showroom Stock racing. My speedometer has been bouncing around during my on track sessions, especially above 80mph. The tach is fine.
My battery is ok and holds a charge and the alternator checks out as well.
I replaced the Ignition Control Module and the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). After doing this the needle didn't bounce around as much as before, but it still fluctuates.
I disconnected the battery and held the positive and negative cables together for 10 minutes. There are no engine codes being shown.
I tried my best to clean the VSS electrical connector.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Fluctuating Speedometer: Civic Si (#65)
I had a simular problem... luckily before i changed out the sensor i had an extra connector from an old harness.
Replacing the connector itself (cut and solder) solved my problem.
