Default flashing oil light; cruising only

The light blinks only after the engine is warm.
it only blinks when im crusing at a constant speed.

It doesnt blink when the revs are below 2k rpm (moving or not)

my oil level is at least 1 quart over the top line.

I just got the engine installed, its a D15B motor, everything seems ok except the flashing light

Why do you have at least one quart past the top line? The top line is the full mark. If you do this regularly you're oil pump is probably shot from too much pressure. Don't fill past the top line.

The oil light is a dummy light saying you have no oil pressure. By the time you see it engine damage is already happening. So DON'T drive around like that, get it checked out.

The oil pump may be bad. Try setting the oil to the correct level, that may have something to do with it.

My oil light only comes on when I have less than half a quart of oil left.

Yeah, it was a shitty time. I had been sold some bum parts and I was broke. Car would leak out anything over 3/4 of a quart. I'd add 2 quarts right before I left to go anywhere. It would make it about 20 minutes and the light would come back on so I'd pull over and add another quart to get me to where I was headed.

I know solid means low oil.

Is the oil sensor connected?

yeah its connected. it turns on when the check light turns on when i first turn the key two notches, but it turns off when im driving in the city. weird, im begining to think it means something, but no one knows for sure. everyone knows that a solid oil light means you're short of oil or no oil pressure, but a blinking one is just assumed the same thing. this is a rhyhmic flashing, not intermittant
