Default fixed my problem

just recently i posted a thread about my ls/vtec surging harder and softer in vtec. i changed the spark plugs and wires. didn't fix it. then yesterday i was bored and looking at my motor. i changed my cold air intake to short ram just to see if there was a difference. since then the vtec problem went away and vtec sounds twice as deep. I was wondering what you guys think do i need a bigger intake or is the short ram actually better. i always thought cold air was better. any comments or suggeestions would beee appriecated

Default Re: fixed my problem (B18AJB16A2)

not all idenical parts are equal..each car responds differently to mods..CAI s and short rams just kept giving me a *service light* on the dash..seems that not all mass air sensors are the same

a CAI will give u better top end..a shortram will give better throddle responce..so the experts will say..but, if ur happy with ur current situation just stick with it..no use in spending more money on something that may or may not work

if ur going to get another intake..just make sure the tubing is the same size as the thoddle body..if to large it ll slow down the velocity of the air and kill ur performance
