Default fix one type r problem, another developes... i really need you guys to examine this one

98-01 jdm type r in a 99 civic si

-finished last sunday
-got the jdm 5zigen and a high flow cat on besides the o2 sensor on the cat.
-the cel is on because of the o2 vtec also not cracking probably because of CEl
-took it out on the highway...fourth gear at 7000 rpm, the car just shuts off.. all i saw at the moment was rpm cuting off at 7000k...pulled over the the road ( i was able to take it to 8500 in second gear with vtec not working)
-now the motor is not throwing any spark on the sparkplugs...

what could have this caused it to die and not throw a spark?

i took the coil to napa and autozone for test.. but they told me something about the output or input being low voltage... both places said the same thing.. could that be it??

You probably hit a rev limit to start then the coil said F U on its own. If its to low its bad.

step 1.) install your oxygen sensor properly

step 2.) install new coil because you fried yours trying to run the **** out of your car when it was in limp mode.

step 3.) have her open the box.

step 4.) learn your lesson about fixing obvious codes before you beat the **** out of your new swap.

i realized i was beating the **** out of my car...both of you thank you so much for making me realize... this is a good lesson, this type is not passing 3k without cel off. should i change the entire distributor? it seems to be old... there is soem sort of dust inside it..i bougtht this motor from hmotors..15-20k avg miles.. i dont get why would dizzy have dust inside and have rusted screws that hold the two wires.. output and input i gues.. but inside and the screws are rusted.. maybe i need to call steve at hmo?

Luserkid: it felt like i hit a rev limit, and *** soon as it hit the rev limit and rpm started going down it cut the engine off.. i believei felt the jerk of my car hiting rev limit.. but what confuses me is that i took it to 8500k before.. and this was 7 .. unlessi was really tired and did not pay close attention...

Sorry rev limit was the wrong word. Governer was what you hit (120mph). I dont think Steve is going to warrenty it since you are already beating on it.

is that dust on the inside like a brownish red.. if it is then you need a new dizzy.. means your bearings are bad and I bet if you investigate more you'll find some metal shavings.. samething happened to me except it was on my crx and it cost me 300 bucks and two weeks to get it.. it was some wierd off the wall dizzy that is only made from a place in PA
