Default fix my rattle??

So lately my civic has developed the WORST rattle i have ever heard. Nothing was dome to the car around the time that this developed. It seems to come from under the dash but I can't tell if its reverberating through the bay or if it is actually coming from under the dash. the noise is that of a washer vibrating up and down a metal bolt loosely. It's driving me crazy. The noise only happens around 2200-2400 rpm and i can't stand it any more. I tried to diagnose while the car was parked by revving it to the same engine speed, but no dice. Seems to only happen when its moving. Any ideas???

The car is a 95 civic sedan ex. D16z6, manual tranny.

it is most likely your tranny my civic did that too but it was auto tranny it rattled like a heat shield was loose but it was the tranny it stopped doing that when i heard the sounds of marbles against the firewall when it finally blew but i was doing it intentianlly just so i could kill the auto tranny Neutral drops while going 75 ftw! jk but to get to the point your tranny is most likely messing up since u said it does it in gear while moving and around a certain rpm thats what mine did

My Integra was doing the same thing, turned out to be the Cat. The insides broke apart would rattle like ur saying, only mine would do it after it was at operating temp. Just some words of wisdom, lol
