Default Fix Leaking Tail Lights

Fix yo leaking tail light for less than $5.00. The following photos were taken whilst fixing the leaking tail lights on a 1999 Honda Civic Hatchback CX.

You will need a caulking gun and a tube of water resistant caulking. Pick these up at a lowes or something. If you have financial issues, purchase both items and return the caulking gun when you are finished with it. (Note: when returning items to store, don't make up a lie, they will simply refund your purchase without some BS excuse.)

Cheers.

Clean that bitch and then apply around the outside. These are the holes the water is leaking in through.

Finished product. Have someone hold the tail light up against the car while you screw those hex nuts back on.

Yeah. I deleted some photos because they were unnecessary. Is there a way to move a thread to a different forum? Clearly not created in the right area. Apologies to MODs.

The taillight gaskets cost me less than $9 for both. $4 isn't going to break me

But on another note, there's also another area where water leaks occur: the flow-through vents below the taillights. You would have to take the bumper apart and loosen the side panels in order to access them.

Just buy crafting foam instead of doing it this way. Trace out the pattern of the old gasket and install.

And x2 on the vents below the taillights (underneath the bumper cover, pic below). More craft foam and a dab of clear silicone on the push clips will solve that water leak.

Lastly, the seam sealer cracks over time. That will also need fixing on some folks Honda's. Below is an extreme example of water intrusion with cracked seam sealer.
