Fitment of shifter -- b-series swap
Will a stock 2000 DX shifter work with a b16 swapped 96 hatchback? I broke my shortshifter and Just need a quick replacement.

Yes it will , but you will either have to shim or wider the part where the shifter bolt to the assembly. It's been a while so I forget if the civic was wider or smaller.

the D-series shifter is narrower than the B-series linkage.some shims will fix it.

i had my d series shifter in for a few weeks with no shims at all. it would kinda rub the linkages together, but it was functional

you can "squish" the sides of the B-series linkage against the D-series shifter without shims if you tighten the bolt enough,but there is about a 1/2" gap if you don't.this will lead to sloppy/impossible shifting if not corrected.
