Default firts auto to manual full swap, some questions???

okay yesterday i finally got to do an auto to manual swap on my brothers EK hatch.
he has a '97 hatch auto and i swapped in a '00 SI b16 5spd(duhh).

everything went fairly smooth until we came across the ecu plugs. there's only two plugs on the ecu right now, the car ran ok last nite for about 50 miles but then it started sputtering really bad below 3,000 rpm's.

now what kind of conversion harness should i use to make sure everything is plugged in ok? also what about the secondary 02 sensor?

if you have any info please help, i tried the search function but i wasn't able to find anything specific. if you have done the full auto to 5spd swap conversion please help.

also if you have any questions about the conversion i can help

actually let me explain the problem a lil bit better.

we got the whole engine swap with the engine harness all the way to the ecu.
now there are only two plugs from the engine harness to the ecu, but there is still a hole on the ecu for a third plug, where does this plug come from?

the obd2a has 3 plugs, and the obd2b has 2. you still used the dash harness. and probably just plugged the motor into the chassis harness. now if you go witha obd1 conversion, then you dont have to worry about the secondary o2. as far as obd2a you dont have to hook it up. obdb2 you do have to hook it up, or it will have a cel.

i'm sorry i don't mean to be an idiot but the '00 SI ecu has 3 holes were plugs go and only 2 are coming from the engine harness, where does the third one come from?

sorry again but i stick to 92-95 civics and this one is a new thing for me.

Converts any:

* 1996-1999 Acura Integra
* 1996-1998 Honda Civic
* 1996-2001 Honda Prelude
* 1996-1997 Honda Accord

to run any OBD2a ECU.

You will need:

* Non-Immobilizer equipped OBD2b ECU

Did you use the obd2b engine harness that came with the motor or did you use your original obd2a harness? If you used the obd2, you need to go back to the original becuase they're not the same.

If I were you I'd do this. Put your original harness onto the motor. wire up vtec, get an obd2a-obd1 jumper harness and choose which ecu you want from there. You can run a chipped p28, p72, jdm Obd1 dohc vtec ecu ( I think its a p30) ect.

i used the '00 b16 harness, because the other one was from a automatic sohc.
so i kept the b16 harness that has the two plugs to the ecu.

ohh man this is gonna be a bitch...

forget obd1 there is no reason to go obd1, you already have the right ecu for your engine
