First Time Valve Adjustment

Hey there guys, Just did a valve adjustment for the first time on my first car here which happens to be a 2000 Civic EX Coupe. Everything seems fine but still "ticks" a little bit still but seems better than before. I reconnected the battery and went to take the car out for a spin, normal maybe a bit more responsive not sure. I decided to rev it a bit more and when i got in the high rpms it quickly squeaked and it did it whenever i revved it high, i let the car sit for like 15 mins and took her out again, revved it high and it didnt do anything. question is everything good now or did i tighten or loosen up a valve too much or everything fine and maybe since i reset the ecu it just threw some things out of whack.

Was the squeaking from the drive belts?

Didnt sound like it, but i could be wrong. it had a like a quick squeal and went away as soon as it switched to a different gear

Yeah sounds like a drive belt too loose.

Re: First Time Valve Adjustment

Well thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it. I'll check the timing belt and see if maybe I got some oil on it or loose in some way. But i guess it wouldn't really make a sound out of the valves if i happen to adjust it wrong in some way? and by the way i just remembered that my alternator belt would squeal at cold start sometimes, do you think guys think that when i did the adjustment it restored some of the extra power that it lost and is now spinning the belt a little harder.
