First time at the track. Tell me what you think of my times.
1st run
60' = 2.578
1/4 =16.006
mph = 85.08
2nd run
60' = 2.460
1/4=15.943
mph= 86.38
3rd run
60'= 2.510
1/4= 15.960
mph=87.32
this was the first time that I had ever been to the track. I have a 98 ex coupe with i/h/e/, test pipe, zex 59300 cam, no ac, no ps, chipped p28 with prospeed program, and I was running with bald kuhmo 712's on some 15" slipstreams. I know I can probably get much better times, but my 60' times sucked

oh and I weighed my car...it came in at 2250 without me in it. I thought that was pretty good for a 98 ex coupe.

it looks to me that with better 60' times, u could be in the mid-low 15's. pretty good man but u know that already.
get some better tires.
what are your suspension mods?

yea man thats what I was thinking too. I have some azenis sitting at my house that I will be putting on next month and My suspension is h&r sport springs with kyb agx's. I had the struts set to full stiff in the back and full soft in the front. My front tires were at 24psi.

work on launching dude. keep the RPM up there and feather the clutch.
not bad for your first time, practice, and try different thing but make sure befor you move on to something new you gave the last thing an adaqute amount of time and practice

yeah man...60 footers plain suck
get some nice 2.1-2.2 60 footers on street tires, and say hello to mid 15's all day, possibly low 15's

haha yea poor brett's first run. Shifted into 3rd and blew his turbo . So how high do you think I should keep my rpms up to? I launched really low the first 2 times and my best time on the second run I launched around 3k. I feathered the clutch and then feathered the gas until I got traction. On the third run I launched around 3500 and all I got was wheel hop.

Re: (Usdmdc2)
dang man, 15 psi is WAY too low on street tires.
I think I had my wrinkle walls at about that with a GSR turbo setup launching at 7500 rpm
I like to keep the revs high, ride it out for the frist short distance, and then just let off the cluytch and rip...or, as much as you can rip

15's are good for sohc,
and ur car is light as a **** for a 98ex!! wtf!
and i think your 1/4mile reflects that,
but your 60ft's do suck

Re: (Tad)
I can see that you got better as the runs went on, so I think that with practice you will be running some really good times. Keep trying.

haha yea man my second run was funny as ****. I raced this dude in a crx si with i/e. He redlighted and ended up launching a whole second before me. By the end of the 1/4 I had pulled to his rear bumper. he ended up running a 16.8

I've got a 97 EX civic with an intake and exhaust and I ran 15.6's pretty consistently my first time out at the track but I used to street race with my friends all the time. It just takes practice and friends that know how to drive to help you with any questions.
