first time parting out a civic
so recently I got my 4dr 98 honda civic into a wreck and totaled it
alot of experts and friends are telling me I should part it out since nothing in the engine bay is touched basically.. and I need money to get a new car..
could you give me basics and things I should be looking/selling?
Id really appreciate all the help I will need...

Re: first time parting out a civic
just like everything usable people will buy?
just started this post since i decided to part out my 4dr 98 honda civic dx (wrecked)
whenever we start gutting everything out and everything...
expecially the D16Y7(non-vtec) with the automatic tranny complete with the ecu and the wireing harness with all new engine mounts that fit 97-00 civic
it has 130xxx miles on it
wanting to sell that for $600 obo.
Has alot of good salvageable parts, only a few damaged parts are:
the font bumper, hood, driverside headlight and fender.
Back bumper has a scratch.
right headlight is fine
all 2 taillights
both passenger side doors are fine
the trunk is fine
there's an all new water pump, timing belt, fuel pump
the tan interior is clean and looks brand new
pretty much anything that is not damaged I got

I don't think you can get $600 for a Y7 and automatic trans. Maybe half of that, if you're lucky. I would just put an add on craigslist saying you have the civic to part out, say what's damaged, mention a few big things and let people inquire about it. You'll make a bit of money back. Good luck!

anything that is still good,
top of my head would be,
Engine/Transmission/ECU any body panels that aren't f'd up, Glass thats still intact.
craigslist.org, attracts quite a few people in my experience.
