First time Honda owner 93 Del Sol
So as the title pretty much says it all, I'm a first time Honda owner, and I don't know a whole bunch about cars. I'm not an idiot, just not well versed with everything. If you don't know me then here is my introduction page. It says that I want to drop a K24A2 in my new baby, but I started to use my brain and took a look in my wallet and have kinda decided against the idea. Unless I win the lottery that is *fingers crossed* Anyways, I'm really looking for a couple of people to kinda take me under their wing until I can fly myself
First thing I'm going to be doing is just replacing some of the old worn out parts with some cheap stock parts that I can then hopefully sell for a bit of my money back, until I know what I want to do to her that is. I have some new struts, waiting on my control arms for the rear, then to do the front, etc. just your basic TLC. But afterwards is where I'd need the help. I want to do an engine swap to something that will make me get up and go twice as fast as my little D16Z6 will take me. I have a friend who told me about the K series, and also said like a B20 would be good but I still have no earthly idea what exactly it is that I want/need for my car to be my own. It's also sad to say that she was molested rather poorly and converted to a mass produced grain. If I can find the scratch and parts, as well as a few people who have either owned a Sol or know just about everything there is to know about them I'd love to keep her for quite a few years. I'm very open to doing some research of my own, but if anyone wouldn't mind helping me out with my project then post down below a bit about yourself, cars owned, etc. and keep subscribed! Until then, peace and hair grease!

Re: First time Honda owner 93 Del Sol
Welcome.
Unfortunately there are a few things wrong with this post.
For one, you are posting in the tech section of this forum. This section gets the most traffic besides the "Classifieds" because people are trying to learn and get help to fix their car problems. Read the above stickies and rules because this thread will most likely get "closed". The mods here are a bit ruthless so listen more, talk less.
Secondly, you sound like an excited young man. The best thing to do before spending money you dont have is read and do your own research then if you absolutely have to, try to get help in here. You dont want to buy junk and you dont want to do things twice so see what works for everyone and avoid major mistakes like buying 'cheap' parts. Reward your car with Genuine Honda parts or at least from a reputable aftermarket company. Again, do your research.
My advice is to keep the car stock. Clean it up, fix the areas that need attention. Motor swaps can wait especially if the car runs fine. But thats just my advice, you can do whatever the fk you wanna. Did I mention the mods here are ruthless?
Good luck.
