first ej6 build
ok, so this is my first ej6. probably m last because i doubt ill get another unless its a dirt cheap hatch. a quick low down at it, its got the d16y7. it has a y8 manifold. ractive header. unkown exhaust. ngk wires and i assume plugs.spectre cold air intake and tein springs. all this was already done when i got the car. needless to say im not a fan of the intake. at all.
anywho. my idea for this car is all motor vtec. possibly waaay down the line but ill do a complete rebuild when that time comes. no im not trying to break records or push this car to its limits. its my dd, and i just want it to be a little more fun to drive. first things first is getting on with the mini me swap. for that im gonna use a y8 head and p2p ecu, possibly port and polish the head with a mild cam and hold it down with arp head studs. thinking about an exedy stage 1 clutch kit, light flywheel and other goods im too lazy to mention. plus i have to keep you guys guessing. im open to creative criticism and suggestions for my build as well as advice. ill update as i get more parts and do things to it.
this is what i have to work with:
its not much but its pretty fun
picked this gem up today for dirt cheap, checked it over and nothings wrong with it.

no sense in a port n polish unless you plan to boost this. N/a builds are a road to no where with any D series. good start so far you would also get more pep just swapping out that dx transmission for an ex with shorter gears.

i feel like for the money it would take to do all that to a single cam a decent b18b swap could be had. just my .02 but that would be way more fun to DD than a mild built sohc

Port and polish, a cam and an upgraded clutch aint gonna do much of anything but make the cash flow out of your wallet faster.
A mini-me won't produce any real power. And you already have the intake manifold swapped over. Trust me, save your money.

Re: first ej6 build
thank you, i apprecaite the input but a swap is out of the question. say what you want but its gonna stay a single. thats just my preference, thats just what i like.
got in touch with the guy that previously owned it. told me it had the s20 trans like i want. didnt believe him but he was right.
got curious of what exhaust i had too and got my lazy *** under there and looked. its dcsports. so that ends the hunt for a different tranny.
