Default First car choice (lots of questions)

Ive searched for threads like this but didnt find any

Ive been trolling here for some months reading about Civics and im thinking of getting one for a first car. Im not a rich person at all and my parents want me to get my own insurance plan. Can you give me a ball park on insurance for a young person? Ive done those online quotes but i get anywhere from 1.8k-2.2k for a plan which seems like alot. How reliable are these cars? Im planning on getting a manual transmission and im not the best at it by far. How many miles can these engines last until something really bad goes on? Right now i drive a 95 Toyota Corolla but its parents car though, its a good car but not much of an aftermarket imo. My budget is around 1k-3k for a car.

Look for a 92-95 civic with around 120k miles or less, no rust, motor runs good and doesnt burn oil...

Ins is around 2 grand (comprehensive) for a car that old for a new driver. You can get just liability which will probably be about half, but that wont cover your car. Meaning if you wreck your car on your own or it gets stolen, ins does nothing. Liability only covers if u hit someone else.

i bought my car for 4200 with 60k miles on and the insurance is outrageous for me almost 3 grand a year makes me sad cause with all that money i could have a diff engine or massive build of THE POWERFUL D SERIES.
ohh and civics will run forever they are uber reliable and one with 100-120k will last for 200k-250k prolly thats what my accord is, winter beater hehe
