To the OP 3000 should find you a nice car. Keep in mind that as long as a Honda is well maintained, it will pretty much run forever. Try to look for something clean, and properly taken care of. For 3000 in my area, you could probably find a near mint 96-00 civic sedan.
It's important that you don't go get a "pos" and then drop a bunch of money fixing it. There are a ton of people who abuse the **** out of these little Hondas, and when they're done playing "Fast and the furious" with them, they end up getting sold to an unsuspecting guy who doesn't know what he's about to walk into.
I would just recommend finding to most stock, clean, and good running car you can, and then adding anything else to it yourself. That way you know your parts went on properly as well.
BTW: Good luck in your car search.

Re: First Car?
Ok MH ur right but but in that since every kind of car is a POS. Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Mitsu, ect.. I guess what I meant to say is a honda is a well designed and built POS, lol

Re: First Car?
I guess it's just my state. Honda's are really really common here, and it's actually rare to see an oem one driving around, or even a properly built one. Sure there are other poorly built cars around, but 98% of the honda's around here look and perform like ****.They can't even figure out how to properly install their body kits and spoilers, its all falling apart. Hopefully you don't have to look at this garbage in your state, but it's everywhere here.
EDIT: Of course, every Ford is a POS lol
