first...braking, then...klunk Y?????
driving the other day i noticed that there is a klunk after letting off the brakes. when comming to a stop, u press the brakes. then when i let off a little it makes a klunk sound. i though it might have been the pad or something so i checked. everything is snug n tight and brake pads are still good. dont know whats wrong. has anyone ever had this happen to them? please help, it making me uncomfortable braking/driving all together.

Maybe upper balljoint. Grab the steering knuckle and pull back and forth and check for movement while the car is parked. If it's lowered, you can jack it up. It'll probably make some noise too. You'll have to replace the entire upper control arm which has the upper ball joint. It's easy to fix this.

Re: (track_assassin)
Mine clunked for quite a while until I changed it (few months). Does it also clunk when you go over speed bumps?
You should change it right away. I got an upper control arm from a junkyard (car-part.com) for around $40.00. It's also now easier to steer.

Your stock bushings can wear out only on one side, causing clunking only at certain times. I bought polyurethane bushings and had them pressed in at a machine shop. the ride quality sucks, and I have twice the road noise as before, but handling is great.

in retrospect, no its not worth it unless its a track car. i have a friend that works at a machine shop and I just slipped him a $20 to do all my bushings on my front and rear suspension. I really don't know how much it would cost if he hadn't hooked me up.
