Finished my swap(d15b with p28 and si tranny)
My d15b stock header was pretty short and would not reach my stock cx piping. So my mechanic says we should put on my cx header so that i have a cat.So now im driving and i can hear some backfiring just a bit.Would that be because of my exhaust setup or the p28 getting used to the motor?.
Im also getting a code 21(vtec spool solenoid) so i took off the solenoid and cleaned it out and went for a little test.I didnt notice anything so im not sure if the solenoid is not working or if my ecu is bad.Whats the vtec crossover on the p28?.The light is constant and people say that it must be the ecu cuz the light should ony come on when im in the vtec range.

I think the crossover is 4800rpm. Check your connections to the VTEC solenoid. If it's on constantly, it might be a connection problem. Did you reset the ECU after you cleaned it?

what harness are you using? are the three wires for vtec connected to the shock tower/ecu?
header should mate up perfectly to the cx exhaust also

if your using the cx harness how do you have the vtec runned since the cx is not a VTEC wiring harness and another thing if you have a check engine light on the vtec is not going to turn on
