Default Finished 92 LX JDM D15B Swap...Pics 56K BEWARE

Well, I started with a bone stock 92 LX and a slightly modded 89 CRX. Well the CRX has extensive body rot so I swapped the engine from the CRX to the Civic. I did it in about two days total but here are some pics. They are in chronological order as per time. Also, the D15B7 blew up on my friend while he was driving it to my house one morning. Anyway, the swap went FAIRLY easily but there are always some kinks. BTW, you gotta love the log chain and the come along engine pulling technique...lol

The D15B7 ready to come out.

The carnage...

She's out!!!

Waiting for a new heart transplant.

The new heart. D15B VTEC. Sorry I didn't get any other pictures of the install but my uncle's a dick and I just wanted to get it in and done. But there are some small problems. First of all, I lost the washer for the mount in the fender well. Second of all, I am having the fluctuating idle thing. Also, I need to wire in my VTEC solenoid still. But other than that, the car runs alright with the new engine in it. I am having an issue with pinging and I think that I need to have the timing adjusted. I need to get a timing light. When I got the engine I had to put a new coil in it so I had to remove the distributor. Of course I marked it but I don't know if I got it perfect. Also, I had to replace the timing belt because when I cranked it for the first time the timing belt shattered into 5 pieces. So I have some small qwerks to work out but it's a low budget project for a daily driver so I'll work it out eventually. But let me know what you think...

It's one of those cheap Ebay headers. I only put it on there because I didn't want to run the one that came with it. But I do have to say that it does sound pretty good. Yeah, the power steering was a nice thing to put on. I was going to not run it but who cares, it's only a couple of horsepower. I also ran AC but it's not charged so I'm not going to run it for a while. Besides, here is PA, it's going to get colder here soon so as long as the heater works, I'm all gravy. Oh, and also, this is my third motor replacement. Just the first in this car.
