hey Mista Bone, glad you replied
I have 2 options:
Use my stock cx tranny and put in a final drive with the quaife lsd OR
use my 1992 Si tranny that needs to be rebuilt and just put in the lsd

i am using the Si tranny right now and it pops out of second gear in turns and the bearings are shot (very noisy)

the cx tranny is fine and only has about 30K miles on it...(hard miles though)
I figure a fairly new cx tranny with a 4.7 or 4.9 final gear would be faster than a rebuilt Si tranny with stock final gear

I spoke to Ben at A&J today and he said he has one in stock but I didn't have time to go into details...I think he said something about SRR making one? not sure...

any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated

Like I said, Houseman only option. He is making them for ATS. Since he can make batch runs for the masses, prices are cheaper. Will only fit L3 (88-91) cases though.

If just the bearings are bad in a Si tranny, do a gut swap into the CX case. Since you are changing the diff, you'll need to reshim it anyway. If you "gut swap" the Si gear cluster into the CX case you'll have to do 2 things......
reshim the mainshaft and swap the second countershaft bearing.
If you look at a helms the DX/CX/VX uses a standard bearing on the countershaft just behind the bearing that uses the lock ring. The Si bearing will not fit into the CX/DX/VX case. I broke a case doing this!
Also replace the 1-2 shifter fork while tranny is apart, it only cost $50.

didn't know ATS was a JDM company. I do know Jaime is making gearsets for a company. Many ITA racers want them.

Maybe OPM or someone?
