Figured I'd introduce myself
The name's Josh. I'm pretty new to the whole Honda scene. I just bought a 2000 red Civic Si, it's got some extras but not too much. I live in the Quantico, VA area so if anybody's from up around there gimme a shout.
I guess just let me know where I should pick up and gain some horsepower BEFORE I start puttin a turbo or juice on this thing, those are last resorts.
I'll be sure to throw some pictures of my car up here once I figure out how..
oh, and thanks in advance for any help received, like I said, I'm new to the whole Honda thing so please... if I ask a stupid question, let me know.
thanks again,
Josh

Welcome to HT. As for posting a pic, just get a photobucket account and upload your pics there then post the [img] tag under it.

You'll soon discover that the quickest and easiest way to make real power with small displacement Honda engines is forced induction...plain and simple.
You can spend money on bolt-on's but in the end, for the money that's spent it could've gone towards a good turbo set-up.
Other than that, welcome to the site and the scene...I'm surprised nobody's told you to toss an alarm on your Si yet

not sure where the hell Quantico is, but nice to see another Virginian
i rep central VA haha
anyway, if you want to post pictures, youre going to have to make an account on a hosting site like Photobucket. The site will give you an IMG link that you just copy into your posts on H-T and your picture will show up. good luck

Re: (devildog12390)
Here's the pics as promised.
Not completely done, needs a new cf hood and a little paint work...but other than that I think I might actually invest in a good turbo system. I don't wanna juice it cause that doesn't get to have the cool Pshhh sound from the blowoff when you shift.

Re: (Apotheosis)
Can I suggest a oem bumper, gages, and e brake handle
And take out that weird metal thing around the shifter.
O and security is a must with these cars.
Welcome to HT. There is another website called em1crew.com just for si owners.

Welcome to H-T. You'll soon find you can learn a lot here if you just do a little reading.
Clean Si man, red's always a good color.
Like everyone else has said, get security for that thing right away because it is a thief magnet.
Is that a body kit rear bumper or what is that? Looks pretty cool.
Keep us posted with anything new you do.
And oh yeah, go for the PSSHHHHHH! haha

Why no more Pssshhhhh sounds? those are pretty flippen sweet
The weird metal thing is a STR Performance plate, nothin special but I kinda like it... and it's already got a momo cf e-brake handle.
as for the gage's I've got a dual pod gage they're phantom gage's but they don't light up so I'm gonna more than likely save up and get some better ones and add another.
Yes the bumper has a kit on it, not sure what kind, the front has a lip extender or w/e.... all this was on the car when I bought it.
I appreciate, like i said, work in progress but it's still fun to drive.

My advice: SECURITY first! Especially owning an EM1 </TD></TR></TABLE>
Quantico is the Marine Corps base, it's about 5 minutes North of Fredericksburg and 20 minutes south of DC
but yeah I'm gonna get an alarm system as soon as possible.

Nice to see a Marine on here. I live about 2 minutes down the road in the Harbor. Nice looking clean civic.
IMO I would drop the wheels and the body kit. Go OEM and have a ball with it. Good platform to start with.

I planned on puttin some 15's on it, possibly 16's.... and as far as the kit goes, I'm not sure about it yet. I kinda like it personally.
and stupid question abut OEM just means original correct?

PSSSHHH!!!
Welcome man. I also own an EM1. I like the Milano Red color more than my blue though. Hope you have fun with it. Like the others mentioned, be sure to have multiple layers of security on that car.
