a few small probs HELP
alright first off i have a 2000 civic dx with a 2000 ctr motor .. just got it done today ... or so i thought ... first prob .. it idles at 1500 then goes to 2000 then to 1500 over and over again ... next problem ... i have a 99 si ecu and the rev limiter kicks on at 6400 rpm ... WTF is happening ... ok next problem check engine light is on ... seems to be throwing a code 14??? what could it be ??? also my car is overheating .. all the hoses are good and i have a radiator ... so i dunno whats up ... and finally the shift linkage is realy wobbly ... when i put it in any gear it just flops around ... it stays in gear but i can move it all around like its in neutral ...

Re: a few small probs HELP (cnycivic)
give your car a once over and make sure every sensor is connected and all the bolts are tight, and make sure your shifter linkage is connected properly. basically, check everything on the car, and as for the idle issues, check for vacume hose leaks and other things connected near the throttle body.
and with the rev limiter issue, is this when the car is sitting still (static) or when rolling? i know the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) might have something to do with this, and when the car is static, the rev limiter kicks in earlyer than if the car was rolling.
as for the code 14, do a search on that, see what that could be, and for the overheating, if you havent done this already, try to flush the fluid and put new coolant in, and if it keeps happnin, it wouldnet be a bad idea to invest in a larger radiator ( ITR i think it is).
