forget about putting a new final drive in your dx tranny, just get an SI or EX tranny. They have much shorter gears than the stock dx,

As for the cam question, just go out and find a cam from a 88-91 civic si. The cam will bolt in without any probs and they are sure as hell alot cheaper than gude cams, BTW they are the same specs as the si cam. THere is a guy here on H-T who has a gude cam and ecu for the d15b7 if your interested, Just IM him 95'd15b7, is his screen name here.

thanks....I know about the ex/si tranny swap but was curious of the benefits of the final drive swap too.

I also have read the posts of your concerning the 88-91 si cam swap too, but how much power can i get from that? and how much from the gude cam/ecu?

also whats the factory redline of the d15b7 and what kind of rpms can it take?

TIA

Actually, the 88-91 si cam will need an adjustable cam gear, beacuse it's 1/2 a tooth off timing.

The Mechanic B Garage site lists the '88-91 DX/LX D15B2 and EX/SI D16A6 as having the same cam (INT 36.603mm/ EXH 36.747mm). Can anyone confirm this?
