a few questions about 92 (or any of the same gen) Civic hatch
Im new to the board and just wanted to learn some info. How much do 92 hatchback civics usually cost? Whats the weight of those things? Is it a pretty safe car to get? Just wondering cause I might buy one for my sister. Trying to look for one that has high mileage, good frame, etc. Need help cause Im really a toyota guy and dont know anything bout hondas and kinda lazy to do a search right now.

Re: a few questions about 92 (or any of the same gen) Civic hatch (toyzmk4TT)
Usually the 92 Civic h/b's run around $2k-$4k depending on model type, milage, and previous owner. They weigh in from 2100-2300lbs again depending on model due to different options. They seem pretty safe to me, I'd opt to get her a 93 and up cause it has the second airbag. My opinion is to get an automatic for her due to that most manual h/b's that weren't Si's don't have power steering. I own a 95 DX h/b, I'm the second owner, it's been a great car and economically sound to 38mpg on the street and upto 50mpg on the highway.

If you're getting the car for your sis, get the Si. Girls like sunroofs
The options level is (from least to most): cx, dx, vx, Si
I think the only "optional" option on the Si was air conditioning. Si's are usually priced in the $4k-$6 range depending on year, milage, etc. The nice thing about the Si is it has better resale value than the other trim models, and is in demand more than the others (except for the hard-cores who usually prefer the cx).

You got some ***** to say that man.
Ok, lets see. Yeah, you get a sunroof, REAR DISC BRAKE, the vtec motor if you wish to stay SOHC, cluster with a tach, cloth interior, better colors, power mirrors, power steering, etc. etc.
I looked for an Si to have the creature comforts, but other than it weighing slighty more that the rest it is definetly the hatch to have IMO
