a Few questions.
I found a cheap H22a1 out of a wrecked lude.
I also have been looking at a b20 with a gsr head to build.
Which will be more durable when mildly build if i boost it 10+ psi on a daily driver
. I understand the weight issue but its not much and i wont be doing any major high speed handling.
I just dont want to fix something every 1000 miles.
Also, Could you put a b series tranny on a H series motor and it still fit in a EG?
And before you start saying search, i have theres no posts comparing the Durabilty of these too motors when boosted.

Re: a Few questions.
B20 should be sleeved if you plan on running high boost... H22 is slightly heavier but not too noticeable over a b series... but if you dotn want to be fixing something every 1000 miles... then dont go turbo lol...

Re: a Few questions.
go with b20. the h22 isnt much heavier its like 20-30lbs dif. they make adapter for HtoB motor to tranny. it helps them fit into the enginebay and actually helps out alot

both engines are gonna need sleeves IMO if you boost too much. The H22 has FRM liners that suck. And the B20 has thin walls... that suck.
If you want it reliable and daily driven on boost, then you're looking at sleeving.
Just do the H22, with H2b, and don't turbo. That'd still be a quick car.

Re: a Few questions.
Well i planned on building the bottom end and putting turbo cams in it before boosting it and by fixing something i mean like big fix, cracked block / sleeves etc.
The h22 is going to save me right at 500$ because of the deal i found so thats extra money into the motor

well, like I said, if you go H22, and you want to boost it, you're gonna want to get it sleeved. It will hold boost for a little while, but everyone I know that's turbo'd an H22 has broken or cracked a sleeve. The FRM liners don't hold up well, and you can't just throw any forged piston into it. (I'm sure you know that, I won't go into it here)
If you're building the engine anyway though.... I gotta say, do the b20/vtec. I'm a bit spoiled by the b-series though. Nothing wrong with the H, it's just that I love the B.
