Default A few Electrical Questions

Alright first off, I wanted to know how i can wire up Denji Projectors so that when you turn on your brights your standard projectors stay on, im sure its just splice and reconnect but what wires?

Second, how can you test if a ecu chip is good or not. basically how can you check if an Integrated Circuit works or not... I'm assuming you are all gunna say just try it.

and Last, i'm ready for some flame on this one but here goes. the vtec light that people put inthere cluster... i like the idea just not how people do it.... i want the light to come on when my car is warm enought to engage vtec... not when im using vtec... the reason being is because with my swapa nd chip it doesnt kick till my car is very warm. IT would be nice to have the light come on so I know if i do take it up to 5700 vtec is gunna kick, without having to take it up there and getting no show.

I hope thats clear enough, Please let me know if you have any questions or answers.

im thinkin just wire a relay to the temp. switch that kicks 12v to the light. i dont see why that wouldnt work. you shouldnt get flamed, cause thats function over fashion. youre actually putting the light to use. trust me, if that light came in JDM gauge clusters, everybody would be doin it (not that i have anything against JDM)

See what i'm thinking is i need to splice off the vtec wire coming from the ecu and run it to a bulb... but i dont want to take power from the wire going to my vtec sylinoid... i dont think thats such a slick idea... but i think it would be really nice and practical to know when it is warm enough to kick so i know if i line up next to a ricer at the stop light if i'm gunna smoke him or SMOKE him

different chips are set to kick at different temps.

You should not be reving the engine that high when it is cold. The temp limiter is there for a reason.

second my projectors came with a harness with two relays(one for high the other for lows) and a power wire for each relay. every thing was plug and play.

You could do a coulple of things

Wire up a relay, power this from the battery, then tap the the wire from the high beam and use this as the turn on power to the relay and have the output of the relay going to the low beams. your lows would now turn on with your high but your highs would stay off when the lows are on.......i think

you could also rewire both the lows and highs with bigger wire and relays so that you could run higher wattage bulbs. and just use the factory healight connection for the turn on power to the relays.

a regular relay from schucks would work, but they are cheaper quality.

that is the exact point!!! I want the light so i know when the car is warm enough for vtec to kick so I DONT take it up there when its not warm and going to kick.

This just goes back to the fact that there is a factory temp guage in the car, just make sure the car is warm before you try and rev on peeps. Some of the aftermarket chips take this limliter out anyway. I guess I would just use a temp switch like someone else said. Byt then again if you had a aftermarket water temp guage then you would know too and this would be more elpful than a light that turns on/off when vtec is ready for activation.
