A few d series motor swap questions
My motor recently blew up in my civic, it had the d16z6 in it.
Will a d16a6 work in this car, if so can i put the head from the z6 on the a6 for the vtec? I know the a6 is a obd0 motor so will it still be able to be wired up using the stock harness?
Second would a d16y7 work in place of the z6, i know the y7 is not a vtec motor but is it possible to wire it up to the stock harness with it being a obd2 motor?
any help would be appriciated

the y7 is OBD2 so it has a couple extra sensors that the OBD1 z6 doesn't have. If you had to choose between the a6 and y7, I would pick a6.
Putting your z6 head on the y7 or a6 block will work, it's commonly known as "mini-me" swap.

id take the y7 and put your z6 intake manifold on.. just use the z6 mounts and it will go in just fine all you need to do is repin the distrbutor plug and use a p06 ecu
chances are the y7 has less miles than the a6
