Default FET sports quick release install problem

ok i have a momo steering wheel and momo hub on my 96 civic, i had the fake fet quick release (ebay one) and it broke so i bought the real one, but its really stiff when trying to lock it in place or remove it, i have to use all my strength to get it to release, am i doing something wrong? is this not compatible with my momo wheel? i know most peeps use nardi wheels with these things...

is it on the car? mine was really hard to get on and off when it wasn't installed, but when it's stationary on the steering column it's alot easier, and it's supposed to have lube on it too

i wish it was that simple, all the lube in the world cant help this, i need to lock the wheel and use 2 hands to tighten it! and i still cant tighten it all the way and i really did muscle it too.
