Ferio or Sedan?

Ferio or Sedan?
Ok so I have a 4 door 2000 honda civic DX. People say its considered a ferio, which I understand is a 4 door. My question is whats a ferio style 4 door compared to a regular 4 door?

Re: Ferio or Sedan?
In Japan certain Civic four door models were referred to as Ferios.
It goes like this (I'll use the 1996-2000 cars as an example in particular):
First, you have the Civic. As far as Honda of Japan is concerned, a Civic is always a three door hatchback.
Then you have the Civic Ferio. As mentioned before, a Civic Ferio is a four door sedan.
Finally you have the least common model in that country, the Civic Coupe. Obviously, the Civic Coupe is a two door coupe model. The Civic Coupe name is also used in Europe.
Both the Civic Coupe and Civic Ferio have additional badges underneath the normal Civic badge on the trunk. These badges are small silver/chrome long ovalish badges that say COUPE and FERIO.
So there you have it.

Re: Ferio or Sedan?
just go to ebay and type in civic ferio and you'll see all the different covers that say ferio and other parts like a third brake light that says "ferio" in it
it is my understanding that some ferio's came stock with a B16 also? if not please justify as i would like to know.

All 6G Civic (and some others, but anyway) sedans sold in Japan were Ferios.
Some Japanese 6G Civic sedans had B16A engines.
Therefore, some Ferios had B16As.
Here is a breakdown of the JDM 6G Civic models.
What Civics were available for the sixth generation in Japan?

I take it you're in Japan or somewhere that is not the US?

Ahh. One of the US locations probably more likley to see a Japanese car (because of the import scene). If he was an older man and it were stock, I would think he might have had it brought over when he came over. I don't know. We get a fair amount of European cars over here with legitimate European license plates even still

Re: Ferio or Sedan?
I suppose to some it's similar to calling a USDM hatch a Type R, only those chassis are totally different.
The only 6G Civic chassis both the US and Japan got was the EJ7, Civic coupe. The STD ("Standard") in Japan and the HX in the US.
I would recommend finding the badge and adding it to your car, but when you need to tell someone what your car is (for parts or in a thread where you need a question answered, for example), I would just call it a 2000 Civic DX sedan. It will lessen confusion and flaming.

You can call it a Ferio, but let me remind you that you will probably eventually be accused of being a "JDM fan boi".
