Default fender and hood gap

hi everyone,

I recently bought a used OEM hood that was repainted to replace my dented and rusty one. The fitment is perfect on the driver side but on the passenger side there is a slight gap. My problem is that the gap is in the middle. On either side, it's flush.

Is this a common problem and how do I fix it?

That looks warped/bent and not a fitment issue.

okay..how do I go about fixing this? Should I bring it to a body shop? Or is it not worth the trouble?

Hm. Where would I go to fix a bent/damaged body panel? You bought it used. Did you check for this before you had it painted?
Is it worth it? That's your question to answer.

I bought it already painted and no I didn't test fit it on the car, I should have so to no ones fault but my own. It was cheap enough so that's a plus. One problem to fix another. I see people suggesting adjusting hood latches and rubber stops on top of the rad support. Will that help with this problem?

No. It's bent. It's not a fitment issue. How do you figure that you can adjust things to eliminate a bulge like that? It's flush at the rear and front of the hood. If it were a fitment issue it would be flush at one end or the other but not both. But go ahead and try adjusting things and see what happens. You might prove me wrong.

The ONLY thing I can think of checking would be the hinges.

whoever previously owned the hood closed it with a set of pliers or something under the hood and didn't notice it and it bent the hood.

I have a similar gap problem too, even tho mine is close at the back and wide at the front. I even tried pushing the fender over more and it still gaps.

Mine is a 98/99 front end conversion though so it could be fitment. Idk.
