cool thanks. what about the oil pan gasket...you know it comes with a rubber one..on the haynes manual when you re install the oil pan to put RTV sealant on it..does that mean not to use the rubber gasket?? or get a new one or just put RTV gasket maker?

Fel-Pro gaskets will work, but the Honda OEM ones are of higher quality.
When you do the oil pan gasket you need to do it correctly or it will leak. The problem is that the Hayne's manual doesn't state exactly where to place the RTV. You need to look at something like the FSM or AllData to see where to place it. Basically you need to put it where the rear main seal housing is and where the oil pump meets the block. Make sure you cleaned all the old RTV off well and that both mounting surfaces are dry because if it's not done right, it'll leak, and the oil pan is a very easily place to leak oil from.

When I bought my LS I had to put the Head on, I decided to try a Fel-Pro, I put the head on and shes been running great for over 1 1/2 years so all seems well. Before I boost I am going to install ARP Headstuds and will probably go with something such as Cometic at that point. I don't know how well the Fel-Pro HGs hold up to boost so I don't want to leave it to chance.

i would ONLY get a oem oil pan gasket. been there done that. blew it on the freeway and lost oil pressure instantly. dont go cheap there. I have a fully built 355 chev i used a full fel pro gasket set on though and not a drip anywhere. good ****.

Re: Fel-pro gaskets..good or bad
ya i went ahead and just bought OEM gaskets..i didnt want to risk it with the oil pan and head gasket. I also bought the IMG and its quite different from the one that was previously on my car.. the one on my car looks like a thicker white plastic type one..isnt that like a performance one? is it reusable?

Can't go wrong with OEM. Make sure the block and head mating surfaces are CLEAN and free of any oil or debris before you put the HG on. And don't get smudgy fingerprints on the HG while putting it into place on the block.
